Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Read PDF Aloud with offline ai (the “App”), provided by NgheRo.Vn (“we”, “us”, or “our”). The App helps you import PDFs, paste text, and write notes, then read or listen to that content with text-to-speech features.

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you use the App on behalf of another person or organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on their behalf.

Your Content

You are responsible for the documents, text, notes, and other content you import, paste, write, store, read, or listen to in the App, and for any messages or photos you send to support (“User Content”).

You represent that you have the rights or permission needed to use your User Content in the App. You agree not to use the App to import, store, process, or distribute content that violates laws, infringes intellectual property rights, violates privacy rights, or breaches any agreement that applies to you.

We do not claim ownership of your User Content. The App stores your library content and reading data locally on your device where possible. You are responsible for backing up any content you want to keep.

App Features

The App may include features for:

  • importing PDFs, pasting text, and writing notes;
  • extracting readable text from PDFs, including on-device text recognition (OCR) for pages without a text layer;
  • reading and listening with on-device text-to-speech voices;
  • following along with sentence highlighting on the page, and word-by-word highlighting where available;
  • storing reading progress, marks (bookmarks), playback state, and preferences;
  • downloading additional voice models on demand;
  • contacting support from within the App and receiving notifications you allow;
  • purchasing or restoring paid access.

Some documents may not work correctly, including scanned or low-quality image-only PDFs (where text recognition may be inaccurate or incomplete), corrupted files, encrypted files, unsupported file formats, or documents with extraction restrictions. Voice quality and processing speed vary by device, language, and voice.

Some voices require a one-time download over the internet before they can be used offline.

We may change, suspend, remove, limit, or improve App features at any time.

Paid Features, Purchases, and Subscriptions

The App can be used without a purchase on a free plan. The free plan includes the App’s features, but limits listening (text-to-speech playback) to 15 minutes per rolling 24-hour period. When the daily allowance is used up, playback pauses until the allowance renews or you upgrade. To enforce this limit, the App stores your remaining free allowance in your device’s secure storage (the iOS Keychain), which may remain on your device after you delete and reinstall the App. You agree not to circumvent the limit (see Acceptable Use).

Paid (Premium) access removes the daily listening limit and is offered through three options: a one-time lifetime unlock, a monthly subscription, and a 3-month (quarterly) subscription. The lifetime and 3-month options include all features. The monthly subscription does not include word-by-word highlighting or skipping headers and footers when reading PDFs; these two features are available with the lifetime and 3-month options. We may change which features and limits apply to the free plan and to each paid option over time.

Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. Your purchase is subject to the store terms, payment rules, refund rules, and subscription management tools of the platform where you purchased. The price and billing period of each option are shown in the App before you buy and are charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.

For monthly and 3-month subscriptions:

  • subscriptions renew automatically for the same period and price unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, according to Apple App Store or Google Play rules;
  • your account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period;
  • you can manage or cancel your subscription through your app store account settings;
  • deleting the App does not automatically cancel your subscription.

For lifetime unlocks:

  • the unlock applies to the App and product identifier purchased, subject to platform account rules and technical availability;
  • “lifetime” means the lifetime of the App service as made available by us, not the lifetime of any individual user, device, app store account, or platform.

You can restore previous purchases from the paywall using “Restore purchase”. We rely on Apple, Google, and our backend systems to validate purchases and restore entitlements. If purchase validation fails because of network, platform, account, or technical issues, access to paid features may be delayed until validation succeeds.

Prices, trial availability, feature availability, and billing terms may vary by country, platform, store, and time.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • use the App for unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or abusive purposes;
  • infringe or violate intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, tamper with, or attempt to extract source code except where allowed by law;
  • bypass, disable, or interfere with purchase validation, entitlement checks, security, or usage limits;
  • use automated systems to abuse, overload, disrupt, or probe our services;
  • upload or process malicious files or code;
  • misrepresent your identity or relationship with us.

Intellectual Property

The App, including its software, design, branding, graphics, text, features, and other materials, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal or internal purposes on devices you own or control, according to applicable app store rules.

No rights are granted except as expressly stated in these Terms.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App, including purchase validation, basic usage analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, and support messages. By using the App, you also agree to our Privacy Policy:

Third-Party Services

The App may rely on third-party platforms and services, including Apple App Store, Google Play, Firebase, GitHub (for voice model downloads), operating-system services, and open-source libraries. These third parties may have their own terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for third-party services, platform outages, store decisions, account restrictions, payment processing, or changes made by Apple, Google, or other third parties.

Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

We do not warrant that:

  • the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or available at all times;
  • text extraction, text-to-speech, highlighting, or playback will be accurate or complete;
  • all files, languages, voices, or formats will be supported;
  • the App will meet your specific requirements.

You are responsible for reviewing imported content and outputs before relying on them.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, content, profits, revenue, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from or related to your use of the App.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the App or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid for the App or paid features during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 50, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the App or paid features if you violate these Terms, misuse the App, interfere with purchase validation, create legal risk, or if we discontinue the App or relevant services.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute-related provisions.

Changes to the App or Terms

We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and may provide additional notice where required.

Your continued use of the App after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your location require otherwise.

Apple App Store Additional Terms

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply and take precedence over any conflicting terms in this document:

  • This license agreement is concluded between you and NgheRo.Vn only, and not with Apple Inc. (“Apple”). NgheRo.Vn, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
  • The license granted to you is limited to a non-transferable license to use the App on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store’s Usage Rules.
  • Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services with respect to the App.
  • In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App to you; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
  • Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App, including product liability claims, any claim that the App fails to conform to any legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.
  • Apple is not responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any third-party claim that the App or your possession and use of the App infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights.
  • You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement, and upon your acceptance, Apple has the right to enforce this agreement against you as a third-party beneficiary.
